The State Fraternal Order of Police made its pick Wednesday in the Sixth District Congressional race.

The State F-O-P backed Democratic incumbent Ben Chandler of Versailles.

The organization praised Chandler for his work getting money for area law enforcement.

"This endorsement is extremely important to me, very important to me because I have such enormous respect for the men and women who protect the citizens of central Kentucky, Kentucky and in fact, the entire nation," said Chandler.

Chandler is running against Republican Andy Barr in November.
