Tonight temperatures will drop to 30 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. 20% of rain/snow mixture tonight mainly along the Cumberland Parkway and southeast. This moisture could last through the day tomorrow for southern counties, but mostly dry elsewhere. A cloudy start Saturday will give way to partly sunny skies by afternoon which will help temperatures reach 52 degrees. Winds will remain out of the east at 5-10 mph on Saturday. Then, through the overnight Saturday as temperatures drop to near freezing and winds shift out of the north, the next low pressure system moves in bringing rain and a wintery mix to most of the state for Sunday with snow likely in northern counties. At this point, following the NAM model, 1-3 inches is likely in northern counties with right at one inch of accumulation around I-64 and more of a wintery mix south of I-64. Most of the precipitation will begin Sunday late afternoon and evening into Monday. Stay tuned tonight at 11 pm for forecast updates and snow calculations for Sunday.
