A cold front will cross the area from west to east today, sparking some isolated showers and thunderstorms in central Kentucky around midday, but more widespread thunderstorms in eastern Kentucky this afternoon. After 2 or 3 PM, the storm chances will become less and less in central Kentucky, as the front slides east toward Virginia and West Virginia. Highs will be near 82° under partly sunny skies. Behind the front, we'll turn cooler tonight with lows around 56°, and patchy fog will return to areas that receive any daytime rainfall. High pressure will provide bright, dry weather across the entire area on Wednesday with highs in the upper 70s. Thursday and Friday will be warm and bright, with only an isolated thunderstorm over the mountains of far southeastern Kentucky. Highs will remain in the 80s from Saturday into next week, with isolated thunderstorms possible each afternoon.
