If you want a special mint julep cup, bring lots of money with you to the Kentucky Derby.
Woodford Reserve revealed the cups Monday. There are 75 of them, because the mint julep has been the official derby drink for 75 years. Sixty-five of the cups will be sold for a thousand dollars. Ten of them will be made of sterling silver, plated in 24 karat gold. Those will cost two-thousand dollars.
The money raised goes to the Heart of a Horse Foundation, which helps retired thoroughbreds retire in dignity.
