Donald Southworth, the man convicted of killing his wife Umi, is asking for a new trial.
The Lexington man, convicted of killing his wife, wants a new trial.

A hearing is set for Thursday for Donald Southworth, the man convicted a few weeks ago of killing Umi Southworth in 2010.

According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, Southworth's lawyers say jurors asked to see an exhibit, but they received a copy, not the original. The newspaper says it was a copy of divorce papers, found in a trash can. The defense says jurors reached a verdict before they were given the actual exhibit.
