Somerset Boil Water Advisory

Somerset Boil Water Advisory

Residents are warned to boil any water used for drinking or cooking.
A water main break has forced the Somerset Water Service to issue a boil water advisory.

Areas under advisory include these areas in Lincoln County: Ottenheim, Skyline Drive, Greasy Ridge, McKinney Ridge, Kentucky Highway 698 from the Green River Church to Redemption Road Church...as well as the city of Somerset.

The service warns that, until further notice, residents should boil all water used for drinking and cooking--bring the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using.

Somerset Water Service adds that the advisory is put out as a precautionary measure due to a possible bacterial contamination in the water.

They say the boil water advisory will be in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results prove the water is again drinkable. At this time, residents affected by it will be notified.
