Social media outlets were filled with Solid Blue fans weighing in on Dominique Hawkins’ commitment to UK Basketball Wednesday.

Hawkins is Kentucky’s current Mr. Basketball and led Madison Central High School to a state title this year.

Solid Blue fans said the commitment is just what they needed after a disappointing season for the wildcats this year.

“I’m looking forward to having a shot at number nine,” said Leslie Hayes.

Richmond residents said they were especially proud to see someone from their hometown heading to UK.

“UK basketball… it doesn’t really get much bigger than that in this area,” said Ron Flickinger, owner of Cosmic Oasis in Richmond.
