Fayette County Public Schools have had ten snow days as of Monday.

School officials said there have only been six other times in the last 50 years, that many days of school have been cancelled in a school year.

Some parents have had to stay home with their kids for all ten of those snow days.

Dave Gibson works at the Kentucky Horse Park as blacksmith.

He's stayed home with his two kids for every snow day, while his wife continues to go to work.

Gibson said he doesn't get paid days off, so he's losing money each day that school is canceled.

FCPS Superintendent Dr. Tom Shelton is asking the School Board to have school on February 17th and March 21s.

The school year is currently scheduled to go until June 9th.

But if the school board approves the move Monday, school will end on June 5th.
