Sixth Annual "Internet Safety Night" at Whitaker Bank Ballpark

The US Attorney's Office and Lexington Legends team up to raise awareness about internet safety
As technology and social networking sites continue to grow, children become more vulnerable to sexual exploitation.

With that in mind, the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO), its law enforcement partners, and the Lexington Legends will team up at 7:05pm on August 6th in Whitaker Bank Ballpark to raise awareness about internet safety.

Law enforcement personnel will hand out school supplies such as folders and coloring books that encourage kids to make safer decisions on the internet.

In addition, parents will receive brochures and pamphlets that will further educate them and their children about the dangers of social networking sites, sexting and mobile devices among other topics.

U.S. Attorney Kerry Harvey will address the crowd from the field about online safety.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Pat Molloy will throw out the game’s ceremonial first pitch. Also, Fayette County Commonwealth Attorney, Ray Larson, will speak on the radio in the fifth inning with Legends play by play announcer Keith Elkins about the latest challenges facing parents and children in the area of child exploitation.
