Six Counties Voting In Two Congressional Races

Voters in those counties will get to cast ballots in two separate congressional districts.

The reason is a vacancy in one district and this year’s redrawing of congressional district boundary lines.

The 4^th District seat is open following the July 31^st resignation of Republican Geoff Davis, so there will be a special election in the old 4^th District to fill out the remainder of Davis’ term.

The candidates in the fourth are Republican Thomas Massie and Democrat Bill Adkins, who will be on the ballot twice, in both the old and new 4^th District so people in the 4^th will be able to vote twice.

But there are six counties that are moving from the old 4^th District into the new 6^th District where Ben Chandler faces Andy Barr, so people in those counties will be able to vote in the special election in the 4^th District to fill out the remainder of Geoff Davis’ term and then they’ll get to vote for either Chandler or Barr in the new 6^th District in the General Election.

The six counties that were move all or in part from the 4^th District to the 6^th District are:

-Bath (part was in the 4^th; all is in the 6^th).

-Fleming

-Harrison (all was in the 4^th; part is in the 6^th).

-Nicholas

-Robertson

-Scott (part was in the 4^th; all is in the 6^th).
