It has been nearly two months since tornadoes tore through Kentucky.

And despite a nationwide outpouring of kindness and donations, many of the storm victims still don't have some basic necessities. One of those basic needs was met Wednesday.

Storm victims from Morgan and five other area counties came to West Liberty to get shoes. Those victims include children and families whose lives were changed forever. Kentucky's Family Resource and Youth Service Centers hosted the event that was helped by David McAllister, the owner of Shoe Sensation in Morehead.

McAllister got people in touch with shoe vendors across the country who were very generous in donating shoes. This simple act of kindness created hope for the hopeless.

More than 2,000 pairs of shoes were being handed out.
