The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said Paul Rearden, 28, and Christie Rearden, 27, were under the influence of oxycodone in a car that was still running in front of the courthouse with a baby in the back seat.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said a couple was arrested after being found under the influence of narcotics in a running car in front of the courthouse with a baby in the back seat.

The Sheriff's Office said it happened just after 3:00 p.m. Monday on St. Clair Street.

Investigators said deputies found Paul Rearden, 28, slumped over the wheel of a car.

Deputies said when they banged on the window, Rearden woke up, took his foot off the brake at which time the car rolled foward.

Investigators said a deputy had to get in the car and put it in park to get it to stop.

Deputies said oxycodone was found inside the car.

Investigators said Rearden was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, trafficking in a controlled substance, wanton endangerment, and criminal abuse.

Deputies said Christie Rearden, 27, a passenger in the car, was charged with public intoxication, trafficking in a controlled substance, and criminal abuse.

The couple was lodged in the Franklin County Regional Jail.
