The case against a former Fayette County School Teacher accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy will go to a Grand Jury.

Jason Thompson looked noticeably different from his initial court appearance with his dreadlocks gone.

We learned during police testimony that investigators were already looking into a case involving Thompson, when this one surfaced.

Lexington Detective Trevor Welch testified today, saying he first became aware of the reported sexual abuse in June of 2011.

He said that in a report, a 13-year-old boy stated he was “inappropriately touched” by Thompson.

He went on to testify that in November of 2011, the child wrote a letter stating the allegations against Thompson.

Detective Welch also said that this child had been living with Thompson.

Thompson was a special education teacher at Leestown Middle School, but resigned from this position when he was confronted with the sex abuse allegations by school officials in 2011.

He is a nationally know Zumba instructor, who was stripped of his Zumba license last month after criminal charges were filed against him.
