Senator Rand Paul: "I Feel Sorry For Joe Biden"

U.S. Senator Rand Paul likes the choice of Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney's running mate. He thinks Vice-President Biden will have his hands full during the debate.
Republican U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky likes the choice of Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney's running mate.

Senator Paul stopped by the ABC 36 studios on Monday.

He said Congressman Ryan will impress people.

"I feel bad for Joe Biden.  Boy, it just doesn't seem fair.  He has to debate Paul Ryan, who knows probably more details about the budget than just about anybody in Washington.  He's a smart guy.  He does well on television.  And so, Joe Biden has his work cut out for him," Senator Paul said.

Senator Paul was in central Kentucky for a fundraiser for Sixth District Congressional candidate Andy Barr.

Senator Paul formally endorsed Barr Monday after a chamber of commerce luncheon in Winchester.

Senator Paul said he supports Barr because he's willing to cut spending.

Barr is challenging Democratic incumbent Ben Chandler in the general election in November.

The Lexington lawyer lost a close race to Chandler two years ago.

The Andy Barr for Congress campaign announced Monday that it will begin running television ads Tuesday, August 14, throughout the Sixth Congressional District.

The campaign said the ads will highlight Barr's character, values and priorities.
