A Clark County man is dead after officials said he drove a pickup truck into the path of an oncoming semi.

It happened just before 11:00 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Boonesboro and Old Boonesboro Road.

The semi’s driver told officials that the pickup pulled out in front of him and he didn’t have time to stop.

The pickup truck’s driver was pronounced dead on the scene.

Officials said a family member told them that the victim was a dementia patient and he had been missing for nearly an hour when the accident happened.

Firefighters said that victim was around 65 to 70 years old and it didn’t appear he was wearing his seatbelt.

The semi’s driver wasn’t hurt.
