A second person was arrested in a child abuse case in Lexington.

Joseph Harney was charged with criminal abuse.

According to a police citation, two boys, ages three and six, told a case worker that Harney beat them with a belt.

According to the case worker, the children had several bruises on their bodies.

Police said all the bruising was caused by Harney, except a large bruise above one of the children’s eyes.

They say that was caused by their mother, Tanya Johnson.

Johnson has already been charged and has pleaded not guilty to the abuse charges.
