Second Arrest In Reported Neglect Case At Oakwood Manor

Investigators said Oakwood employee Cody Burton, 21, of Burnside, is accused of neglect and failing to report neglect at the home for developmentally disabled adults in Somerset.
A second person was arrested in connection to a reported neglect case at Oakwood Manor in Somerset.  The facility is for developmentally disabled adults.

The Office of the Attorney General said Cody Burton, 21, of Burnside, an employee at Oakwood Manor, was charged with knowing neglect of a vulnerable adult and failure to report neglect of a vulnerable adult.

This follows the earlier arrest of Coty King, another Oakwood Manor employee, who was accused of enticing one developmentally disabled adult patient to hit another patient at the facility while he recorded it on a cell phone.

Investigators said Burton is accused of participating in the alleged incident and failing to report it.

Burton was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center after he was arrested Wednesday night at his home.
