Search For Suspect Continues After Shots Fired At Officer

The search continues for a motorcyclist who's accused of firing shots at a Nicholasville Police officer following a traffic stop.

Investigators said the officer pulled over a suspected speeder show was headed north on Lexington Road (US 27) shortly after midnight.

Police said as the officer approached the motorcyclist, the man turned and started shooting at the officer.

The officer wasn't hit.

Investigators said the motorcyclist took off south on Industry Lane and hasn't been seen since.

The Jessamine County Sheriff's Office and Lexington Police were called-in to help in the search overnight.  

Lexington Police used dogs on the ground and a helicopter by air to look for the suspect.
