The Franklin County Sheriff says 28-year-old Buford Barron III was fishing along Elkhorn Creek when he slipped and fell into the water Sunday evening.

Officials continued to search the water Monday. The body was spotted by a helicopter during the day, but before the boat could reach the body, it floated away.

Searchers say the creek's current is stronger than usual after the recent heavy rainfall, but that water levels have continued to drop through the day, making the search slightly easier Monday evening.
