Sculptor Keeps Cool In Hot Temperatures

While many worked to stay cool in the hot temperatures, for one man, staying cool was his work.
In Lexington, summer came back almost as quickly as it left Tuesday--temperatures got up to 85 degrees.

But one man managed to stay cool...in fact, it's his job.

"A lot of girls in the kitchen offer to come in and clean up the freezers for me after I make a mess," said Michael Stoddart, an ice sculptor at--and owner of--Seasons Catering in Lexington.

Suiting up for many might have meant a bathing suit...for Stoddart, it meant a full jacket and gloves.

He said he keeps his freezer at a cool 22 degrees. On days like Tuesday, there are benefits.

"I was in there for like three hours, and I didn't even have a jacket on. Just my shirt and stuff. I was able to go in and out, warm up a little, and go back in there," said the sculptor.
