Although there were no students at Madison Southern High School on Tuesday, the school was filled with teachers, staff members, and the Kentucky State Police.
The drill was for teachers to be prepared for the possibility of a threat. It’s an all too often scare in the wake of the recent school violence. The Kentucky State Police are doing something about it. Trooper Purdy said, “ You know most staff members or I would actually venture to say that nobody has actually heard live fire within their building.”
After a strong demand from schools around the state. KSP has developed a program that is aimed at helping all schools make a plan and be ready for an active shooting incident.
Kentucky State Police said they’re making good progress so far.
