ABC 36 is following a developing story in Frankfort where a rumored threat of violence has resulted in the lockdown of Franklin County High School.

Frankfort police and the Franklin County Sheriff's office say the lockdown, which was lifted after about an hour and a half,  was a precautionary measure.

Authorites say today's action stems from a fight at the high school basketball district tournament last week, in which a number of teenagers allegedly attacked another student. Wednesday morning, Frankfort police took four Frankfort High school students and one Franklin County student into custody.

All five juveniles are accused of assault. Authorities say a juvenile court worker will determine if the teenagers will remain in custody or be released to their parents and have a court date set. Police say all students at Franklin County High School are safe.

We will have more on this story coming up on ABC 36 News at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
