The Laurel County Sheriff's Office says some students were hurt in a school bus accident.

Deputies say it happened around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon on KY 1394 at KY 490.

That's about 10 miles outside of London.

Deputies say the right tire dropped off the pavement causing the bus to drop off into a ditch.

The Sheriff's Office confirms there were 50 students on board and five of them went to the hospital.

Their injuries are unknown.

The driver of the bus was not hurt.
