A Georgetown man, who many know as Santa Bill, is part of a Christmas celebration which will be shown Friday night in prime time on ABC’s Extreme Makeover, Home Edition (8-10 pm on 36).
Santa’s sweat equity helped make it a memorable Christmas for one Ohio family. Bill Bryant, who is at his busiest in December, was one of 92 Santas who helped with the television shoot in August.
"It was about 97 degrees,” Santa Bill remembered. “It was the first weekend of August. We actually had five Santas and two Misses Clauses pass out and luckily they had extremely good paramedics on site for us."
Bill Bryant is Vice President of the Amalgamated Order of Real Bearded Santas. All of their members volunteered to help tear down and build a house for the family chosen to receive the gigantic gift.
"A lot of us built on the house, we entertained the crowds,” Santa Bill remembered. “We tore down the house, it was extremely fun."
When you watch Friday night, look for the Santa in the burgundy suit. That’s Bill. “I’m just a little different; I wear an open coat in the show."
