Kentucky lawmakers approved a budget for the state Monday night, but the money set aside for Rupp Arena's renovation is just over two percent of what Lexington Mayor Jim Gray had hoped for.

Gray had asked the legislation for $65 million of the project's $310 million budget.

They approved the arena for $1.5 million.

According to Gray, the General Assembly is still in session until April 15, and he vowed to "work every day between now and then to get the legislation that allows us to fund the project."
