Hundreds of runners in Lexington took to the streets yesterday hoping to help veterans have a merrier Christmas.

They were part of the VA Medical Center’s Victory 5K.

The money raised will be used to buy presents for people who will be at the medical center during the holidays.

Organizers say the veterans appreciate the gifts, but the race itself meant something special too.
