The father of a woman murdered in June while out for a jog says a planned run in her honor Saturday is drawing a response above and beyond what was expected. Sarah Hart, a mother of three, was killed in Russell County June 14th. She was pregnant. Her alleged killer has been charged and faces the death penalty. "Oh the response has been absolutely tremendous,” said Wendell Roberts, Hart’s father. Nearly 2,000 people have pre-registered for Run With All Your Hart, a four mile run in Hart’s home, Russell County. Roberts says about 100 people register daily.

Roberts says the outpouring of support brings “some comfort” to the family but “the wound is still open and it still hurts.”
Roberts told ABC 36 News Monday he is “very much at peace” with the decision to seek the death penalty on Christopher Allman, the man charged with Hart’s murder and fetal homicide for the death of her unborn child.
Roberts, who is pastor of Freedom Christian Church in Russell County says his view on capital punishment is based on a “strong biblical stance.”
