Not only are the football Cats trying to ramp up the intensity level to reach maximum performance here in the spring, they're also now dealing with their first big injury.

Senior defensive-lineman Donte Rumph is out with what head coach Mark Stoops called a serious injury the two-year starter suffered on Monday.  In fact, the injury may require surgery to be repaired.  More on Rumph as information becomes available.

Right now, the loss leaves the Cats searching for a high-tempo, high-energy guy on either side of the ball.  Rumph being the one guy who really stood out the first few days of practice.

Now there's a big void to fill.

More on the impact Rumph's injury has on the team in the video.
