Routine Traffic Stop Reveals Drugs, Weapon

Police in Laurel County arrested a man on several charges including drug trafficking after a routine traffic stop Saturday.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Department says an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding near the 36 mile marker in London around 8PM Saturday night.

When given permission to search the vehicle, police found a fully loaded semi-automatic pistol and several small bags of marijuana.

Police arrested Michael Osborne, 49, of Lexington.

He faces several charges including DUI, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and trafficking marijuana.
