A fixture of the Lexington Landscape celebrated its 24th year this weekend.

The Roots and Heritage Festival came to a close today.

People celebrated all weekend in the heart of the city with food, parades, live music and art.

It was 2nd year the festival partnered with the recently reopened Lyric Theatre another focal point of downtown culture.

Organizers say it was a natural choice.

Lexington’s Roots and Heritage Festival has received several awards over the years including being on the list of the Kentucky Tourism Council’s Top 10 Festivals for six years.
