Imagine running 13 miles with a concert as you go.

The Rock & Roll Half-Marathon is headed to Lexington next March.

It's a 13-mile race which will begin and end at Keeneland, and will include Old Frankfort Pike, and Donamire Farm on Rice Road.

And in keeping with the name, bands will be performing for runners and walkers on  stages at every mile of the course.

Josh Cox, who is a US record holder for 50 kilometers, was in Lexington for Tuesday's announcement.

He says, "I love the bands because running, it hurts. There's no way around it. And there's something about the beating of the drum and the playing of the guitar that numbs the pain."

The half-marathon is Saturday March 30th, 2013.
