Construction on KY 11 will be moving down the highway and will change traffic patterns around the new Flemingsburg Bypass.

The stoplight has been removed on the existing bypass and drivers are being instructed to observe a three-way stop.

The stop will stay the same, but by next week, some traffic will shift to the new lanes.

Anyone driving in the area should slow down, stay in one lane, pay attention to signs, and be alert.

The $8.6 million Flemingsburg Bypass extension began earlier this spring.

It will include a two-lane roadway over two miles of open country from the existing bypass at KY 11 north of Flemingsburg across Cherry Grove Road to KY 57 at Sleepy Run Creek.

The goal of the project is to improve safety and reduce congestion through the downtown area.
