Road Sign Installation In Mercer County Will Mean Closures And Delays

New road signs are scheduled to be put in by the state on US 68 in Mercer County from March 11th through March 15th.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that signage installation is scheduled for US 68 in Mercer County. 

The new enhanced signage will improve visibility and provide additional safety.   

Work will be performed:

 

  • Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15 – 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. daily

           

The location of the work on US 68 will be between Coghill Lane (MP 17.542) and the Brooklyn Bridge (MP 20.058).  This will be a mobile operation with traffic control devices and flaggers directing the traveling public. 

Motorists traveling this route should expect lane closures and intermittent delays due to the sign installation project.

Alternate routes:

 

  • To Lexington – US 127 (north) to the Bluegrass Parkway (eastbound) to US 60 (eastbound)

 

  • To Nicholasville – KY 152 (eastbound) to US 27 (north)

 

  • Truck traffic to Nicholasville – US 127 (northbound)

 

All scheduled work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling near the work area.
