Richmond: Possible Fairness Law To Protect Same-Sex Discrimination

The Richmond City Commission meets to discuss implementing a fairness law to protect discrimation against sexual orientation and gender identity.
Lexington has enforced a local fairness law for more than a decade.
Following numerous incidents, including when a lesbian couple was kicked out of a park a few weeks ago, the Richmond City Commission asked Ray Sexton, the Executive Director of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission, to speak at their monthly meeting to help dispel some of the myths surrounding this ordnance.
The actually voting process could be a while down the road, but Mr. Sexton, tells ABC36 that at least a couple of members are on board with the passage.
