Richmond Mother Admits To Burying Baby In Ohio

Whitney Johnson claims her baby, Garin Niehaus, had pneumonia when he died in December of last year, according to police.
A Richmond mother admitted to burying her old-year-old son in some woods in Ohio after she said he died of natural causes, according to police.

Whitney Johnson reportedly told investigators that one-year-old Garin Niehaus had Pneumonia when he died on December 18th or 19th of 2012. Johnson reportedly told police she and her boyfriend Nathan Ritze drove from Richmond to Hillsboro, Ohio to bury his body.

Investigators said the couple asked people they knew there if they could bury a dead dog on their property, and then buried the baby instead. Johnson reportedly told detectives she didn't call police because she didn't want her other two children to be taken away from her.

The coroner has not released a cause of death for the baby, but said the initial exam did not show any signs of broken bones or trauma to the boy's body.
