A man who was scheduled to appear in court after he allegedly let his dog kill another person's dog is now being accused of threatening the former dog owner and his wife.

Richmond police said Eric Cromer, 42, was originally charged with harboring a vicious animal after his dog attacked and killed another man's canine and also bit the man on the hand.

On Tuesday, officers were told by the victim that Cromer and approached him and his wife and allegedly threw a cigarette at him, threatening to hurt him if Cromer had to go to jail over the dog incident.

Police later charged Cromer with intimidating a participant in the legal process and terroristic threatening.

He was booked in the Madison County Detention Center.
