Stewart and Jennifer Shuman were both given five year prison sentences Thursday in a child abuse case.

Stewart Shuman, 23, was sentenced first. His wife Jennifer received the same sentence.

The Shumans were taken into custody back in September after their two sons, ages two and three, were found locked in a room that, according to Richmond police, was covered in feces.

Police said the door to that room was tied shut with a bungee cord.
