The reward to find the person who killed Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis continues to rise.

A Louisville businessman named Gus Goldsmith donated $50,000, raising the reward fund to more than $100,000. Goldsmith said he lost his brother in a robbery years ago, and knows the family's pain all too well.

"I've been here and felt their pain, and the pain of a lot of years of not finding the killer of my brother," said Goldsmith.

Goldsmith said he hopes the reward money will encourage someone to come forward to police with information. Nelson County's Judge-Executive and Fiscal Court also added $10,000 to the fund.
