Reward For Racist Vandalism

Reward For Racist Vandalism

With new surveillance video released Friday and a reward offered, Police hope they can find some leads and catch the suspects in the racist vandalism at Mercer County School.
It wasn't the best way to end the school year for students and staff at Mercer County School.

Summer vacation is a time of excitement, but it hasn't started off that way after vandals spray painted racial graffiti on the windows of the school and a school bus.

Surveillance video was released Friday.

Police Officers at the Harrodsburg Department say one of the vandals was wearing shorts and cowboy boots.

Investigators believe they are juveniles, but are looking at adults as well.

Lieutenant Chad Powell said this is a serious crime.

"We've had a lot of discussion on if this was a senior prank. I want to make it very clear to the community this is not a prank. It's a bias, motivated crime, and it's treated that way and very seriously. I hope the community will as well," said Powell.

If you have any information contact the Harrodsburg Police Department.

If information leads to any arrests you could receive a reward of $1,000.
