Jimmy Russell has been recognized as the longest-tenured, active Master Distiller of any whiskey company in North America, and now a resolution has been presented to Kentucky's General Assembly to mark 2014 as "The Year of Jimmy Russell."

The resolution, sponsored by Senator Julian Carroll and Representative Kim King, was read Tuesday afternoon at the State Capitol to honor Russell's 60-year service with the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg.

Among his well-regarded achievements, Russell is known for creating Rare Breed, Kentucky Spirit, American Spirit, American Honey, Tradition, and Tribute.
