A caregiver of three dogs in Franklin County now faces more charges after the two pit bulls and German Shepherd he was responsible for reportedly attacked a woman in her front yard.

51-year-old Gayle Abrams had originally been charged with failure to vaccinate a dog for rabies.

He now faces three counts of that particular charge, plus three counts of permitting a dog to run at large and three counts of harboring vicious animals.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the attack happened shortly after 10 Saturday night, when two men reported seeing 39-year-old Heather Moore being mauled at her home on Flat Creek Road.

Officials said she was taken to UK Hospital trauma center for her extensive injuries, but was released the next day.

The dogs are currently in quarantine at the Franklin Humane Society.

Abrams was looking after the dogs for their owner, who has reportedly been in jail for the past year.
