There was some troubling news released about the number of Kentucky kids living in poverty.

The latest numbers from the 'Kids Count' project showed that economic stability for children was far worse now then it was in 1990.

The national research said that between 1990 and 2011, childhood poverty went up 13% in the Commonwealth.

The study said that one in four children had lived in poverty over the last four years.

And it said that Kentucky ranked 35th in the nation when it came to child and economic well-being.

But there was some good news for the state.

The report showed that between 1990 and 2011, the percentage of uninsured Kentucky children was cut in half.
