Regina Bunch is now a member of the Kentucky General Assembly.

She took the oath of office Tuesday, as the session began. Bunch replaces her husband, Dewayne Bunch, who continues to recover from an injury last year. Dewayne Bunch fell and hurt his head while trying to break up a fight at Whitley County High School. He is a teacher there.

Both Bunches are Republicans. The district covers parts of Whitley and Laurel Counties. Bunch was the only new representative sworn in Tuesday, as there were no House elections in November of 2011.
