Rebuilding West Liberty

Rebuilding West Liberty

Two years after a tornado ripped through West Liberty, the city is rebuilding. But this time, the city is hoping for more of an energy-efficient future.
The Clinton Global Initiative will spend almost $8 million building 52 housing units, that use solar and GEO-thermal power for people who lost their homes during the 2012 storm.

The tornado killed seven people, and destroyed 400 homes.

A fundraiser in Louisville was held Thursday night to help raise money for that project.

Other people will be living in a new 48-unit apartment for storm victims called Fredrick's Apartments.

The entire building will be energy efficient.

The projects money has already been raised.

The new apartments will be completed by the end of 2014.
