Rain Showers For Thursday

Rain Showers For Thursday

Rain showers and possibly a few thunderstorms will move through Kentucky today. Rain chances will decrease as we head into the weekend.
Noon Update: The heaviest, widespread rainfall has pushed north and east out of Kentucky early this afternoon, but many areas could still see more rain this afternoon. More scattered showers, and possibly a thunderstorm, will develop and move northeast through the region this afternoon. It still looks like most precipitation should end shortly after sunset.

Temperatures are climbing into the low and mid 70s now. Lexington is currently at 72° with southern Kentucky recently hitting the mid 70s.

Chief Meteorologist Jason Myers will have the latest on our rainy end to the work week tonight on ABC 36 at 5, 6, and 11.

Rain showers are moving into the area this morning and will continue on and off through the Thursday lunch hour. In the afternoon, our rain chances continue along with the possibility for a couple thunderstorms. When dry, expect to be mostly cloudy with temperatures topping out in the mid and upper 70s.

The rain showers and storms will taper off after sunset. Skies will remain mostly cloudy overnight with morning lows on Friday in the low 60s.

After a dry start to our Friday, we could see a few more hit-and-miss showers and storms. The clouds will stay with us another day with afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Most of us will stay dry this weekend with temperatures climbing back into the mid 80s by the end of the weekend.
