ROTC Program Honors 9/11 Victims

University Of Kentucky ROTC program held a vigil Tuesday to honor victims of September 11th.
University of Kentucky ROTC students held a vigil for victims of 9/11 Tuesday.

The vigil began at 8:42 a.m. That is the same minute the first plane hit the first tower. Cadets read each victim's name throughout the day, and placed a flag for them on the university's lawn.

Lieutenant Colonel Jason Cummins says the vigil is a great testament to what this day means to America, and mentioned how much time cadets put into the event which they completely run.

"These cadets that we have now were in grade school when this happened, and so I just think this is a great testament for them to come out and help keep it fresh in the public's mind," said Cummins.

Cummins added that many U.K. students stopped by the memorial to observe a moment of silence.
