A Somerset man is in custody after deputies said a neighbor caught him trying to break into their home.

The Sheriff's Office said a homeowner on KY-2227 had noticed that someone had broken in and taken his guns last Friday morning.

According to officers, the man believed the burglar would return, so that afternoon, he hid with his lights off and cars gone to make is seem no one was home.

While he hid, the man claimed to see the suspect crawling through a window and confronted him.

The burglar reportedly ran off, back to his home nearby.

Deputies said they obtained a search warrant and found 27-year-old Roger Harris hiding inside.

Harris was charged with second-degree burglary for the incident in which he was caught, but the Sheriff's Office said charges have not yet been filed for the original break-in as the investigation continues.

He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
