Pulaski County Coroner Richard New pleaded not guilty on Thursday to theft charges, according to the court clerk.
He was indicted earlier this month on 26-theft charges.
He's accused of stealing approximately $60,000 over a nine-year period from the funeral home where he used to work.
The charges are not related to his job as coroner.
His trial is scheduled for October 1, 2012.
