Thirty World War II Veterans and other Veterans from the Korean and Vietnam wars, including four men with ties to the Normandy Invasion, will be flown from Lexington to Washington, D.C. for the day to visit several memorials as part of the first 'Honor Flight' to originate from Lexington.

The flight is free for the Veterans.

The once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of the Veterans appropriately falls on the 70th D-Day Anniversary, marking the allied invasion of Nazi-occupied France.
