UK students, alumni, and families are leading a call to the athletic department to cut coal industry funding.

The Beyond Coal Coalition says they want to see the University take the same path with coal that they did with tobacco and alcohol companies when they decided to reject sponsorships from them and include coal in its list of harmful industries.

The on-campus rally featured poets, live music, and a march to the Wildcat Coal Lodge to deliver hundreds of petitions and inhalers stuffed with personalized notes.
